The Chinese Smartphone vendor, Xiaomi launched their first dual lens camera smartphone in India for 14,999 INR. It has some uniqueness then the other Xiaomi devices. It is their first Xiaomi phone in India to feature a dual-lens camera. And not forget, with Android One coming into the picture, the Mi A1 is also the first Xiaomi smartphone to flaunt stock Android operating system. Xiaomi Mi A1 (4GB + 64GB) will be available for sales on 12th September via Flipkart and Mi.com at 12PM.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 5.5″ 1080p Full HD IPS LCD Display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The devices comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. As far as the camera is concerned, the primary camera is a dual 12+12 MP camera setup with f/2.2 and f/2.6 and the secondary is a 5MP shooter. The rear cameras have a telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens. It also has a dedicated 3.5 mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and IR Blaster. All this packs with a 3080 mAh battery.
The phones runs the latest Android Nougat 7.1.2 instead of Xiaomi’s custom skin MiUi and will be receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update till the end of this year. As its a phone offered by Google under the Android One Project, it will be receiving Security updates directly via Google on a regular basis.
Beyond India, Xiaomi is releasing the Mi A1 in more countries than usual – a total of 13 markets in Asia, ten in Europe, ten in the Middle East and Africa, and four in Central and South America. It’ll be available on September 12th.
